Please be advised that the latest information we have received regarding the camping
situation on Moreton Island is as follows:-

If you have a pre-booked camping permit with the Department of Environment and
Resource Management (DERM) for one of these campsites, you are still able to travel
to Moreton Island. You are then able to relocate to a vacant campsite at another camping area zone away from the above mentioned
area.

As of 13.01.2011, DERM are  not issuing any new camping permits until 21
January 2012. Please ensure that you have accommodation booked prior to booking
your travel on the MiCat ferry. 

Only pre-existing camping permits are being accepted for camping on the Island until
advised otherwise.

Please note that the above information that we have recieved is correct as at 17.01.2011, and that changes in the situation can occur. At this stage, please refer to DERM for any further updates.
