Glamping Testimonials

Say goodbye to mouldy mattresses and tattered tents. Last weekend, Moreton Island welcomed the opening of Glamping at Castaways near Bulwer on the Island’s northern tip. Tents start at $110 a night in the low-season – a far cry from the $20 a night campsites found elsewhere on the island, but guests already reckon it’s worth every extra cent.

Just wanted to pass on the world’s biggest thank you to you for including me in the glamping weekend at Moreton Island!! We had an absolute ball, thanks to the wonderful hosts, setting and activities. THANK YOU for a fabulous weekend that will go down as one of the most memorable that I can remember!

For those who have dreamt about camping on the paradise that is Moreton Island but haven’t found the courage, the energy, the 4WD or the equipment, then glamping at Castaways is a dream come true.

In the tiny northernmost settlement of Bulwer a cluster of ten custom built tents are part of the accommodation on offer at Castaways, combining the comfort and convenience of a unit with the ambience of, well, an incredibly spacious good-looking tent.

Glamping will take off – it makes Moreton Island extremely accessible for those who want the experience without having to worry about getting there/equipment etc. And I love a fluffy white towel and comfy bed after a day face-planting in the sand!

Australia Today
Hidden away amidst the Melaleucas at Castaways at Bulwer, the brand new Glampsites are the ideal accommodation for ladies who usually avoid traditional camping. Each tent is beautifully furnished with a queen size bed, private ensuite and verandah so there is no assembling, bug proofing or setting up required.  Everything guests require for their stay is provided, meaning no car loads of equipment either. The Glampsites are half a heartbeat from the stunning beaches for which Moreton Island is famous and provide the ideal sanctuary for a girl’s weekend following each day of activities.
